Text Box: Job Description for Children’s Church Leader

Children’s Church is held during the 10:45AM worship service from September through May. It requires two people, one to lead and one to assist.

o    One hour to prep for class during the week
o    One hour to teach (approximately 11:00-12:00 each Sunday)
o    Curriculum supplied by CE unless leader would like to put together his/her own lessons

A typical Sunday is as follows:
The leader and assistant should be in the classroom at the beginning of the service (10:45AM). The children will be dismissed from the sanctuary at the end of the children’s sermon and parents will escort them to the classroom.

11:00                      Children arrive/ parents sign-in
11:00 - 11:10           Prayer/ “What was the best part of your week?”
11:10 - 11:20           Bible story
11:20 - 11:40          Craft/Games
11:40 - 11:50          Snack
11:50 - 12:00          Free play/ sign-out as parents arrive

Clean-up takes an additional 15-20 minutes after the children leave. The tables need to be disinfected, all toys put away properly and the carpets vacuumed. During the winter the floor also needs to be wiped down if it is dirty from snow/salt.
